Things that Made Me Happy this Week

Sunglasses: Céline* | Robe: Vintage | Top: Intimissimi | Skirt: River Island (old) | Shoes: Adidas*

I’ve compiled a list of things that made me smile this week. I think it’s healthy to reflect upon and appreciate the little things in life. I have a bad habit of feeling like I’m not having a great time, unless something big or extraordinary is happening and that’s something I really want to change about myself. Without further ado, here are a few of the things that made me happy this week.

1. RuPaul’s Drag Race and 13 Reasons Why
Season 2 of 13 Reasons Why just came out and I watched all of it over the weekend. To be honest, RuPaul’s Drag Race makes me happy every week and I’ve been very vocal on my blog about my love for drag queens and what the show means to me. This week Drag Race and 13 Reasons Why collided as Miles Heizer was a guest judge on Drag Race. I have the biggest crush on Miles. I find him so mysterious and cute. However, Miles isn’t the only reason why I enjoyed 13 Reasons Why. The show touches on VERY heavy, but VERY important subjects that no one really talks about. It allows conversation about the worst things in life and reenforces the fact that we are never truly alone.
2. Mini Cruise to Oslo
I bought my mom a mini cruise from Copenhagen to Oslo for Christmas and we decided to go this week. The weather was insane for Scandinavian standards (27°C/80°F!!). We got to see the Edvard Munch museum and walk around the city for a couple of hours. I love my mom and I love spending time with her. I’m such a momma’s girl and I’m not even ashamed of it.

3. I finally got Influence by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen
A while back, I ordered Influence by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen on Amazon and it finally came in  the mail this week. I know the book is very old, but I remember I couldn’t afford it when it came out 10 years ago and I just haven’t gotten around to buying it until now.
4. Catching up with old friends
A couple of days ago, I was on the phone with one of my best friends from high school. Unfortunately, we don’t talk a lot so when we finally do talk we have so much catching up to do that we end up talking for hours. Old friends know you in a different way and even if you live far apart and they can’t see what’s going on in your life with their own eyes, they know what advice to give you and how to help you navigate your life. It’s also so nice to be taken back in time and laugh about the things that you used to laugh about as a teenager!
5. The Royal Wedding
I’m neither a royal enthusiast nor am I into weddings, but everyone was talking about it so I had to watch the wedding too. Let me tell you, I SOBBED my way through the wedding. All the symbolism was so nice and so meaningful. I loved the black Gospel choir performing Stand By Me by Ben E. King, that was just beautiful. I want to finish off this post with what Michael Curry (the American preacher) said at their wedding:

“Imagine a World Where Love Is the Way”
