Are Stripes a Never-Ending Trend?

Handmade knit | Monki skirt | Dr. Martens boots | Alexander Wang bag

It's such a gloomy dismal sunday here in Denmark. It's windy, it's snowing, it's raining and it's really dark outside. Thanks to the weather, I'll literally be doing NOTHING today. So I'm currently sitting by my window with a nice cuppa tea whilst I'm reflecting on life (*fashion, that is...). My outfit is very lazy day appropriate as I'm wearing a sweater my mum made knitted ages ago, my Dr. Martens boots and my beloved Alexander Wang bag. The striped sweater is sort of a funny fashion item, if you ask me.
Before everyone's favourite girl, Coco, introduced the striped top to the fashion world in 1917, it was used as workwear by the french navy. Throughout the ages, we have seen the striped top on icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Kate Moss etc. This got me thinking, is the striped top one of those items that never go out of style? Or maybe it just works as a not-so-basic basic wardrobe piece?

What do you think? Are stripes a never-ending trend? Anyways, happy sunday!

  1. I think stripes are a classic look and that's why they've been around for so long! They're the perfect mix of two neutral colours so they're easy to pair with anything.

  2. I always love a statement piece and this sweater is definitely one! xx
